LTL and FTL transport from China: How to choose the ideal option for your cargo. Comparison of formats, advantages and features of each type of delivery.
LTL is a delivery where several shipments from different customers are combined in the same vehicle; you only pay for the place that your goods occupy.
This format is ideal for small and medium-sized businesses, testing new items or regular deliveries of small shipments.
Cargo arrives at consolidation warehouses in Beijing, Guangzhou, Shanghai, and Yiwu.
A single consolidated shipment is formed.

FTL (full-truckload or full-container shipping) is the classic option in which the entire truck or container is reserved for one customer.
This solution is chosen by companies with large bulk shipments, where the volume of goods allows for full loading of the standard truck (usually between 80 and 100 cubic metres). The client obtains complete control over transport: the route is formed strictly under his load without going to outside warehouses.
The main advantage is cost-effectiveness. You don't pay for an entire container if it's not filled, and the price is shared among all participants in the consolidation, which allows you to reduce the budget considerably when transporting small shipments.
The rate per cubic metre or kg at full load is usually lower than the LTL. However, if you do not have the volume to fill the entire transport, it is not economically feasible to pay for empty space.
Delivery times depend on how long consolidation takes at the warehouse. Standard road delivery for consolidated cargo is 18–21 days; direct routes take 11–13 days from Beijing to Moscow and 15–17 days from Guangzhou or Shanghai to Moscow.
This is an express solution: the cargo leaves immediately after loading, without waiting for "neighbors." If it's critical to business speed, a full-freight transport (or aircraft) can get the goods faster.
Provides maximum flexibility for small shipments. Due to frequent loading and unloading operations, the risk of damage to cargo is theoretically higher. We minimize these risks through professional packaging, crates and palleting.
Provides maximum cargo safety. The shipment is loaded once at the sender’s warehouse and unloaded only at the recipient’s warehouse. Minimal handling reduces the risk of damage to virtually zero.
